Dr Amundson received her dental degree at University of Illinois She completed her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of MiamiJackson Memorial Hospital in 2012 which was the only level one trauma center in Dade County at the time She followed this with 3 years of private practice and voluntary faculty at Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa Honduras She then decided to return to academics in 2015 and recently completed an Advanced TraumaCMF fellowship at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in trauma and post traumatic reconstruction She has interests in maxillofacial trauma dentoalveolar surgery dental implants and orthognathic surgery Additionally she is involved in facial cosmetics including injectables and Liquid Facelift In her free time she enjoys yoga travelling and volunteer mission work

In addition to surgical care, Melissa Amundson is also involved in facial cosmetics, including injectables and Liquid Facelift, bringing a multidisciplinary approach that supports both functional and aesthetic goals.
